CONTACT INFORMATION

I grew up in Georgia, graduated from Auburn and Georgia Tech in electrical engineering, then worked in Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, and then back to Mississippi where I now am retired. I have been married to the same lovely lady since 1967 and we have one child. I love the outdoors and enjoy paddling, camping, photography, and observing nature in its natural beauty. At home, I am one of the few who actually likes gardening and yard work.

I have been a casual canoe paddler for many years and after retirement, having more time to experience the outdoors, I developed a renewed interest in paddling the streams and waters of Mississippi. I quickly discovered the advantages of owning both a canoe and a kayak. Soon thereafter, I also discovered one of Mississippi's greatest natural treasures, the Barrier Islands. While researching the Islands, I found a fair amount of general information but very little specific information that a paddler, camper, or hiker needs to know. I created this web site to fill this gap in information and currently offer it free of charge. It is my intent to provide in one place, everything one needs to know about visiting any of the Barrier Islands.

I hope that you find the Guide useful. If you do, or if you have a question about the Guide or the Islands, please take a minute to let me know using the comment form below. You may also email me at bob@barrierislandsms.com. Of course, I am also interested in suggestions for improvement. Thanks, Bob
